"Dear EUROGI members,
The current EUROGI website http://www.eurogi.org is build on a technology platform which will cease operation in May 2011. Therefore, EUROGI is taking the opportunity to launch a call among its members for a new web site hosting and for the redesign of its website based on a different, user-friendly platform, possibly open-source e.g. easy content management system like for example Joomla.
EUROGI wishes to review the functionality and purpose of the website and to benefit from the latest technology features and functionalities to enhance its professional profile as a European GI Network of Networks in general and to promote its communication and dynamics in particular.
The call is attached and has been prepared in co-operation with and thanks to amongst others incoming Secretary General Catharina Bamps. The call includes requirements, phasing and technical specifications.
Proposals are welcome until latest 23 March 2011 and should be sent to binomarchesini@eurogi.org and mauro.salvemini@eurogi.org.  If additional information is required please contact me.

Stakeholder meeting on Geographic Information - Information days on CIP ICT PSP call 5

Dear all,

"We hereby inform you that the Commission is organising a second stakeholder meeting on Geographic Information (GI) in Luxembourg on 3 March 2011. The purpose of this meeting is to continue the discussion of possible activities in the area of Geographic Information that could be taken into consideration for funding in the framework of CIP ICT PSP, launched at a first meeting held on 20 October 2010.

Attached you will find the agenda for the event. In line with the objectives of the DAE and CIP ICT PSP, the meeting will revolve around the discussion of European added-value products or services based on GI that are likely to contribute to economic growth, the obstacles that currently hinder the deployment of such products or services, how these obstacles can be overcome, to what extent the required digital content is available and which stakeholders need to be involved in order to bring a possible project to a successful conclusion.

Furthermore, we also inform you that, in addition to the general information day on CIP ICT PSP call 5 on 28 February, a dedicated information day for the theme of Digital Contentwill take place in Luxembourg on 8 March 2011. Registration will be open until Thursday, 3 March 2011 at 18:00 hrs via the programme website at
