Copernicus rendezvény az Európai Földtudományos Unió bécsi közgyűlésén

Mai postánkból. A 2015 április 12-17 között Bécsben rendezendő Európai Földtudományok Únió (EGU) közgyűlése kapcsán az ESSI 2.9  szekció-szervező Bernd Ritschel arra hívja fel a CEOS WGISS munkacsoport résztvevői figyelmét, hogy január közepéig még jelentkezni lehet a kérdéses szekció szervezési és lebonyolítási tennivalóiban való közreműködésre. HUNAGI ajánlja a földmegfigyelés terén működő tagjai és partnerei számára, hogy éljenek a lehetőséggel, amennyiben interdiszciplináris, projektközi vagy akár határokat átívelő együttműködésről tudnak beszámolni, ahol az interoperabilitás és adatkezelő rendszerek interoperabilitásában tapasztalatokat gyűjtöttek. A Duna Régió Stratégia program különösen alkalmas példa lehet, amennyiben már vannak hazi eredmények és tapasztalatok.

This session is targeted to all geoscientists, computer and information scientists who want to present their expertise and experiences in cross-project collaboration activities especially related to the design of technical solutions for the achievement of interoperability between different data management systems. Such questions as harvesting of metadata and data, the combining of data catalogs and repositories, the merge of underlying data models and used vocabularies, the mutual use of Web based application services and the general enhancement of data integration related to small and big data can be addressed.

"The summer of 2015 marks the twenty-year anniversary of the International Early-Career Scholars Institutes in GIScience.

The organizers and participants in those previous Institutes in co-sponsorship with the Vespucci Initiative invite a new generation of early-career GIScience scholars to with join us to explore Advancing Geographic Information Science: The Past and Next Twenty Years.

A maximum of 25 early-career scholars will be accepted for the conference based upon full-paper or extended abstract submissions. Full papers will be peer-reviewed and, if accepted for the Institute, will be conditionally accepted for inclusion in the book arising from the Institute.

This is not your usual conference. The Institute is designed for maximum interaction in participatory research challenge discussions, presentations, projects, panels and cooperative and competitive research-focused activities. It will also engage participants in informal settings and outdoor opportunities to encourage extended discourse among early-career and senior scholar participants.

Álláslehetőségek az Eurogeographics szervezetnél

(Visszatekintés: Az Eurogeographics az európai sőt az azon túli térség földmérési, térképészeti és kataszteri szolgálatainak nemzetközi testülete. A szervezethez hazánk 1991-ben csatlakozott Lengyelországgal együtt elsőként térségünkből. A CERCO (ez volt a szervezet korábbi neve) southamptoni közgyűlésen - amelyen Klaus Barwinski elnöklete alatt megszavazták felvételünket - rögtön be is jelentettük, hogy a magyar földügyi szolgálat örömmel fogadná a szervezet közgyűlését az első lehetséges alkalommal. Erre 1995-ben került sor az Új Városháza dísztermében.)

Az Eurogeographics ügyvezető igazgatója Dave Lovell a jövő évtől a Globális Téradat Infrastruktúra szervezet megválasztott elnöke lesz, amely szervezettel HUNAGI kezdettől fogva - 1996 óta - intézményes kapcsolatot tart fenn, a szervezet alapító tagjaként.

A HUNAGI korábbi Napló felhívásai és személyes megkeresései nyomán több HUNAGI tag pozitívan nyilatkozott az EUROGI  munkacsoportokhoz való csatlakozásukról. Egy kivételével, HUNAGI minden indító telekoferencián képviseltette magát, és mindegyikhez tett szóban vagy írásban is hozzájárulást. Egy egy telekonferencia 65-75 percet tartott és azon a regisztráltak többsége részt is vett. A főtitkár minden csapatban hozzájárulóként (vagyis nem koordinátorként, vagy szövegezőként) szerepel. "The Geographic Information Visualization and Analysis group at the University of Zurich invites applications for a doctoral research assistant position in Geographic Information Science/Geovisualization to work on a 3-year research project funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation. The highly motivated applicant will be asked to design and evaluate cognitively inspired, perceptually salient, and affectively responsive virtual reality displays for effective and efficient spatio-temporal decision making in time critical situations and under uncertainty conditions.
Applicants are required to have successfully completed a Masters degree in a relevant area, e.g.,
Geography, Geoinformatics, Computer Science or Psychology/Cognitive/Affective Science. You are interested in a scientific career with a focus on empirical research and have solid knowledge of quantitative and qualitative methodologies for ideally interactive and responsive virtual reality (3D) display design, and respective empirical data collection and analysis. You have programming skills and are confident in, for example, writing scripts to perform multiple analyses. You have a proven ability to work independently on guided projects, and are interested in presenting your research results orally and in writing to a larger scientific audience. You have a good standard of written and spoken English. Knowledge of German, whilst not required, would be an advantage.
